Engineering Assistant

1. Purpose of Role
-The Engineering Assistant provides a pool of support of multi discipline engineering, technical skills and is required to support all the Engineering Artisan to whom the individual is allocated to perform low complexity high volume work.

-Effective maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery
-Effective refurbishment of reclaimed equipment and machinery

Instrumentation Mechanician

1. Purpose of Role
-The Instrumentation Mechanician is responsible for providing dedicated technical and operational systems support to the central services division. The role requires a degree of competence in instrumentation used in highly automated plants. The role is further responsible to ensure that all systems are maintained and optimised to ensure that the capacity to the production process is maximised.

2. Work of Role
-Disseminate best practice in instrumentation aspects
-System trouble shooting and hardware problems resolution
-Support on existing instrumentation
-Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution

Section Engineer Production

1. Purpose of Role
-The Section Engineer is a 2.13.1/2.13.3.1 or 2.14.1 and 2.13.12 appointment in terms of the MHS Act and is responsible to provide operational service to the Resident Engineer. The role ensures effective and safe movement of men, ore and material in the vertical/decline/horizontal shaft/haulage/plant and the associated maintenance and construction linked to the operational area of responsibility.

Accounts Payable Coordinator

1. Purpose of Role
-To lead and guide the accounts payable team by example to ensure the effective functioning of the department in terms of Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine’s overall strategy in the management and payment of suppliers of goods and services. And to support the Treasury and Administrative Manager in his/her responsibilities in relation to accounts payable.

2. Work of Role
-Coordination of activities within accounts payable
-To ensure adherence to legislation, group policies and procedures of all activities within an area
-Oversee the implement and maintenance of an effective filing system that ensures easy access, preservation and retrieval of documents
-Guide accounts payable team to ensure that the correct creditor is paid the correct amount at the correct time within the correct payment terms
-Supervise, manage and review creditor reconciliations on a continuous basis
-Assist in ensuring vendor queries are resolved timeously
-Compile and interpret periodic and regular reports
-Effectively manage the budget including cost saving initiatives

Engineering Learnership

1. Purpose of Role
-Provide Learner with the required exposure to institutional learning and workplace experience that will enable them to obtain an Artisan qualification at level 3 – 4 as registered on the NQF, thus meeting the needs and requirements of the Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine. In addition, it provides the relevant information needed to journey this qualification to help ensure that “on – and off the-job training” in apprenticeship is successful for all involved.

-Apprentices are required to adhere to all legislative requirements specified in the learning agreement
-Responsibility to know what is involved in their trade, to learn and to apply their skills and to serve the employer’s productivity needs to the best of their ability
-Responsibility to take control of their training, to ask questions and seek answers
-Demonstrate ability and competence as per apprenticeship requirements within the scheduled duration of 3 years
-Apprenticeship programme trains and develops workers to meet industry standards for a given trade occupation

-A Cheesa fulfils a shift role in a panel area of mining operations and is responsible for all charging up and related activities under the guidance of the Mining Team Supervisor.

-Support the measurement of mining activities
